A Preview of the Second Season

Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister SEASON 2 Trailer

Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister’s new chapter begins with episode 14 on January 14, and a new trailer shows how the story will continue to develop. It also introduces the series’ new opening theme: “Pray Pray Pray.” Sung by the in-story Amagami Sisters—a trio voiced by Sumire Uesaka, Kaede Hondo, and Shion Wakayama—it’s got just the right mix of sweet and lively energy for the show.

Crunchyroll will continue to stream the anime, so you can watch the second season as soon as it airs in Japan. The series will have 24 episodes in total, running two seasons back-to-back for six months. An English dub is also available on Crunchyroll.

Story Refresher: Living with Three Shrine Maidens

Uryu Kamihate’s Unusual Arrangement

A young man named Uryu Kamihate has had a tough life, spending most of it in an orphanage. He is working hard to pass the challenging entrance exams to the medical program at Kyoto University. Still, he finds it nearly impossible to focus on his studies when he moves into a new residence with the priest at the Amagami Shrine.

But there’s a catch: the three bright and beautiful sisters at the Amagami Shrine—Yae, Yuna, and Asahi—are very different. Moreover, the priest has put a surprisingly harsh condition on Uryu’s free lodging: he must marry one of the sisters and take over the shrine. When the proposal turns his quiet life on its head, Uryu finds himself balancing blossoming romance with the demands of daily shrine life.

The Shrine’s Challenges

It’s a lot of work for a small shrine, and Uryu has to assist the sisters in upholding the temple’s traditions. But they also face outside influences that threaten the shrine’s very existence. There’s never a dull moment, from unexpected visitors to local happenings that could either help or hurt their reputation. Each new challenge tests whether Uryu and the sisters can work together—while dealing with the awkward fact that he might just become part of their family one day.

What to Expect in the Second Half

Tanabata Festival and a Timely Marathon

One of the significant events in the new episodes will be the Tanabata Festival. Asahi’s middle school students write wishes on paper strips to be hung at the shrine’s festival on July 7. They include Asahi’s friendly rival, Karen Matsugazaki, who also wants to shine in a coming marathon. But a sudden downpour ends up postponing the marathon to the same day as the festival. Having a major cultural event at the shrine and a physical competition on the same day should be a fun challenge for Asahi—and, for that matter, for everyone else living under the shrine’s roof.

New Opening and Ending Themes

“Pray Pray Pray” will power through the second half of the season with sunny vigor, but there’s another theme song waiting for viewers at the end of each new episode. The idol group ME delivers “Kami-sama no Iu Toori!” (“As the Gods Say”), which will play during the climactic closing minutes of each new episode. The combination of cheerful energy and themes of devotion and fate is reflective of the show itself.

Why Fans Love This Rom-Com

Endearing Character Dynamics

The series is about the relationships at the shrine. Uryu is very serious, but the other sisters have different personalities. They argue a lot when they’re in the kitchen, and they get into mishaps. These interactions keep the episodes fun and relatable.

Cultural and Traditional Flair

The story takes place in a shrine, blending Japanese tradition. Festivals and customs. The characters’ roles in events and rituals show how old ways mix with dreams.

Humor Mixed with Heart

Romantic comedy fans will appreciate the lighthearted misunderstandings, but this show has a more serious side. Uryu might stutter in a flirty conversation, and then the group band together to save the shrine from unexpected trouble. It’s this mix of light and seriousness that attracts viewers who like comedy and real stories.

Looking Ahead

Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister Nears Its End. Still, there’s even more to look forward to. With the Tanabata Festival, Delayed Marathon, and Romantic Tensions between Uryu and the Sisters, this series will be fun until the very end with its many plots and characters.
