These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Animanga Planet ("we", "us") governing your use of animanga-planet.com (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if higher, to create an account. If you are younger, you may only use the Service with the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian.

2. Your account

• Provide a valid email address and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account.
• One account per person. Do not impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization.
• Notify us via the contact page if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Your content

• Lists, scores, reviews, and profile text you publish remain yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute that content on the Service so the site can function. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must retain a copy to comply with law.
• You are responsible for what you post. Do not post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, infringing of intellectual-property rights, or spam.
• Reviews must be your own writing. Quoting brief passages with attribution is fine; wholesale copying is not.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• scrape, bulk-download, or harvest the Service by automated means beyond what robots.txt permits;
• probe, disrupt, or overload the Service, or attempt to access accounts or systems you are not authorized to access;
• use the Service to distribute malware, phishing links, or unsolicited advertising;
• circumvent moderation, rate limits, or access controls.

5. Catalog content and intellectual property

Catalog metadata is sourced from public APIs and curated by our editors, and is provided "as is" without warranty of accuracy. Cover art, banners, character images, and titles belong to their respective rights holders and are displayed for identification. If you are a rights holder and believe content on the Service infringes your rights, send us the URL, proof of ownership, and your contact details via the contact page, and we will review it promptly. The Animanga Planet name, logo, and site design may not be used without our permission.

6. Moderation and termination

We may hide or remove content that violates these Terms and may warn, suspend, or ban accounts for violations, with severity matched to the offense. You can delete your account at any time from your settings, which permanently removes your personal data and content as described in the Privacy Policy. We may terminate the Service or parts of it with reasonable notice.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including our liability for intent or gross negligence.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify registered users (by email or a site notice) before the changes take effect, and continued use of the Service after that constitutes acceptance. The current version is always at this page.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable European Union law and the national law of the EU member state in which the operator is established. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
