What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Some are essential for the site to work; others are set by third parties such as our advertising provider.

Cookies we use

Strictly necessary (always active). A session cookie keeps you logged in, and a CSRF token protects forms against cross-site attacks. The site cannot function without these, so they are not subject to consent. We also store a small flag in your browser to remember that you dismissed the cookie notice.

Analytics (no cookies). Our analytics are self-hosted and cookieless (Rybbit). They set nothing in your browser and do not track you across sites.

Advertising (consent-based). We use Google AdSense. When advertising loads, Google and its partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and prevent fraud, and, if you consent, to personalize ads. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland these are set only according to the choice you make in the consent message, and Google also stores your consent choice itself (for example a euconsent-v2 entry). Managing cookies

• Advertising consent: reopen the consent options from the notice at the bottom of any page to change or withdraw your choice. You can also manage ad personalization at Google Ad Settings.
• Your browser: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies will stop you from logging in.
