The video runs 1 minute 43 seconds and introduces the two leads, Lavinia and Yo, set to HIMEHINA's song. It's the project's first release and its announcement in one.
It found an audience quickly for a brand-new channel. The MV passed 46,000 views on YouTube within two days.
What Is DemVAMPS About?#
The official tagline is simple: "This is a story of vampires and humans."
Lavinia is a mysterious vampire girl. Yo is a boy fated to serve her. The vampire throne has lost its master, and vampires who have lived hidden behind the human world are now gathering in Tokyo to claim it.
The story asks who will end up ruling this world: Lavinia, or someone else.
Characters and Cast#
- Saori Onishi as Lavinia, a vampire who has lived for hundreds of years. She's arrogant and sure of herself, but usually lazy and unhurried, and her favorite food is garlic.
- Makoto Koichi as Yo, a gentle 14-year-old who is calm beyond his years. For Lavinia, he would give up his own life, a devotion the official profile calls dangerous.
The official site already profiles twelve characters, though only these two have voice actors so far. The rest include a loyal butler who is hopeless at making tea, a delinquent vampire who despises humans, and a high school girl with a bottomless appetite. There's also an elite child vampire attended by three maids who rarely do as they're told, and an agent of "the Order," a group that keeps the balance between humans and everything else.
Both leads are in other shows right now. Onishi voices Yukine in Magical Explorer, and Koichi returns as OiKatzo in Shangri-La Frontier Season 3.
Who Is LAM?#
LAM is a freelance Japanese illustrator and a former Atlus developer. LAM's best-known game work is on Persona 5, as a UI and graphic designer, along with concept art for Fate/Grand Order.
DemVAMPS is very much LAM's own project. The credits list LAM as original creator, scriptwriter, director, storyboard artist, original character designer and chief animation director.
