Watch the First Main PV#
The 89-second PV is framed like a film, in a wide letterbox. It opens on the shop's wooden front and its hanging sign, then wanders the quiet streets of Kamakura.
Inside, the mystery starts with an object: an old set of Natsume Soseki's complete works and its price slip. Daisuke walks a hospital corridor. Shioriko sits up in a hospital bed, glasses on. Then the tagline appears: "Her fingertips turn the page on secrets."
It's a calm, unhurried trailer, with one surreal image of bookshelves standing on a beach under summer clouds.

What Is Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou About?#
Tucked away in a corner of Kamakura is a secondhand bookshop called Biblia. Every day, customers come in carrying old books, and with them, secrets.
The owner, Shioriko Shinokawa, is so shy she can barely speak to someone she has just met. Put an old book in her hands, though, and she starts talking as smoothly as turning pages. From the book itself, she reads the mystery and the story hidden inside it.
Her partner is Daisuke Goura, a big, tough-looking young man who can't read books at all because of something in his past. He still feels drawn to them.
Cast and Characters#
- Riko Akechi as Shioriko Shinokawa, the bookshop's owner, a born bookworm with sharp powers of deduction
- Shunsuke Takeuchi as Daisuke Goura, tall and intimidating to look at, but someone who hates conflict
- Reo Osanai as Ayaka Shinokawa, Shioriko's cheerful, outgoing younger sister, a high schooler who can't keep a secret
- Wataru Takagi as Shida, a shop regular who trades in out-of-print paperbacks and looks shadier than he is
- Yohei Azakami as Kikuya Kasai, a reseller who deals in discontinued CDs and games through online auctions
- Saeko Kamijo as Nao Kosuga, a tall high school girl with short hair and a boyish way of speaking
Akechi and Takeuchi were announced first. Osanai, Takagi, Azakami and Kamijo joined on October 3. Akechi recalled first seeing Shioriko on a book cover in a middle school library, and called landing the role "a major incident" of its own.
Takeuchi is busy this year. He also voices Hiryu Asaga in PSYREN.

The Novels Behind the Anime#
En Mikami launched the series in 2011 under KADOKAWA's Media Works Bunko label, with cover art by Hagu Koshijima. The series has more than 8.5 million copies in circulation, and the 11th novel came out in March 2024.
It has been adapted before, as a live-action TV drama in 2013 and a live-action film in 2018. This is its first TV anime. Mikami says the drama and the film were both an honor, but a TV anime was the one wish still left.
