Wound & Bandage Anime: January 9 Premiere, PV and Cast

The Wound & Bandage anime premieres on January 9, 2027. The date was announced on October 16, 2026, with the first teaser PV, a new theme visual and the two lead cast members. J.C.STAFF is animating the series.

The anime adapts Umihoshi Nanai's manga Kizuguchi to Hotai, a romantic comedy about a yakuza boss's daughter and her caretaker. Here's the PV, the broadcast schedule, the cast and the staff.

When does the Wound & Bandage anime come out?#

Wound & Bandage premieres on Saturday, January 9, 2027, in Japan. It airs weekly on Saturdays, according to the official site. All times below are Japan time:

• AT-X (early broadcast): Saturdays at 11:00 p.m.
• ABC TV and TV Asahi, ANiMAZiNG!!! block: Saturdays at 26:00, which is 2:00 a.m. on Sunday
• ABEMA (first stream): Saturdays at 26:30, which is 2:30 a.m. on Sunday

AT-X will also repeat each episode on Tuesdays at 29:00 (5:00 a.m. Wednesday) and on Saturdays at 8:00 a.m. An international streaming platform has not been announced yet.

Wound & Bandage teaser PV#

The first teaser PV is titled "Love" and runs 32 seconds. It was published on the ABC Animation YouTube channel.

This is the first of four weekly reveals. Starting October 16, the production will release a new theme visual, a new PV and new cast information each week for four weeks.

Wound & Bandage theme visual#

The new theme visual shows Go Kiritani and Riyo Washizu standing side by side. Behind them, the word "LOVE" is spelled out in large letters over panels from the manga.

Both actors sent comments. Hisako Kanemoto says the characters' expressions are a big part of the appeal, and Kanemoto wanted to bring out their inner selves through voice.

Chikahiro Kobayashi says the recordings take place in the morning. All the shouting the role needs leaves Kobayashi full of energy for the rest of the day.

According to Anime News Network, Miyuki Ishida was an episode director on One-Punch Man seasons 2 and 3. J.C.STAFF is also behind One-Punch Man Season 3 Part 2, which also starts in January 2027. Susumu Yamakawa wrote the scripts for The Way of the Househusband.

What is Wound & Bandage about?#

The Washizu family is a yakuza group that controls the whole Kanto region. Go Kiritani, second-in-command of one of its direct affiliate groups, is ordered to look after Riyo, the boss's daughter.

Kiritani expects a quiet, easy kid. But Riyo has an unusual taste: she is excited by the sight of strong people when they are weakened. The official site describes the series as a forbidden romantic comedy between the young lady and the yakuza lieutenant.

The Wound & Bandage manga#

Umihoshi Nanai's manga runs on Kodansha's Getsumaga Kichi, on the Comic Days service. It launched in August 2024 and is published every other Monday. Five volumes are out in Japan.
