Watch the Witch on the Holy Night Final Trailer#
The trailer debuted on September 30, 2026, during a special broadcast of new information. It's the last trailer before the film opens and the longest so far, packed with new footage.
It starts quietly: a rainy morning, a can left on wet pavement, and Aoko under a red umbrella. Then the school scenes give way to the night, where the film turns blue. Spells light up dark streets. In the shot used for the thumbnail, Aoko throws out a glowing palm.
On YouTube, the trailer passed 1.8 million views in its first two days. It has also drawn more than 24,000 likes.
The Theme Song: "Yoru to Ao" by supercell#
The theme song is "Yoru to Ao," which means "Night and Blue." It's a new song by supercell, written, composed and arranged by ryo. The trailer plays its entire first verse.
The vocalist is the detail fans noticed first. Nagi Yanagi sings it, the same voice behind supercell's 2009 hit "Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari," the ending theme of Bakemonogatari.
It's also a return for supercell itself. The group performed the ending theme of the original visual novel in 2012. The film keeps the same musical identity as the game.

The Official Synopsis#
The trailer arrived with the film's official synopsis. It opens in Aoko's own words: "To put it abruptly, I am a magician."
Aoko Aozaki is a magician living in the modern day, though only an apprentice. By day she's a dependable student council president. By night she practices sorcery with her housemate, the witch Alice Kuonji.
Then, on a freezing, quiet, rainy morning, she is called to school. There she meets Soujyuro Sizuki, a transfer student who has come down from the mountains to the city. An apprentice magician, a witch and a country boy who knows nothing were never supposed to cross paths. Their meeting slowly changes Aoko's everyday life.
