The Fake Alchemist anime revealed its first teaser PV, cast and staff on September 25, 2026. Passione is animating the TV series, adapted from Jiro Sugiura and Umemaru's isekai fantasy manga. No release date has been announced yet.

When Does The Fake Alchemist Anime Come Out?#
There's no date yet. KADOKAWA hasn't named a premiere season, a TV network or a streaming service.
The anime was first announced on June 18, 2026, with a teaser visual of Nora and a short announcement video. The second wave came on September 25, with the teaser PV and the first cast and staff names.

The 61-second teaser is built around the moment Paracelsus meets Nora. Around them, it sketches out Orichalconia, a city-state where alchemy and magic are part of everyday life.
Nora is the face of the campaign so far. She fronts the thumbnail with a sly grin, and she was also the subject of the first teaser visual in June.
That June announcement video took a different approach. It showed Nora's design passing from hand to hand: Sugiura's rough sketch, Umemaru's manga art and, finally, Passione's anime version.

The announcement video has passed 1.7 million views on YouTube. The new teaser crossed 430,000 on its first day.
What Is The Fake Alchemist About?#
Paracelsus was reincarnated into a world where alchemy and magic run through daily life. He arrived with a cheat skill that lets him make any item at the highest possible quality.
He keeps that power hidden. In the city-state of Orichalconia, he scrapes by as an ordinary alchemist and tries not to draw attention.
That changes when he takes on a contract with Nora, a slave who is also a shaman. Then he meets Coco, an elf who has lost all four limbs and all five senses.
Paracelsus sets out to save her from his small workshop. What starts as a rescue grows into a conflict involving alchemy and sorcery, then space and, eventually, the gods.

Who Is Making The Fake Alchemist Anime?#

Takahashi and Sanpei are an experienced fantasy pairing. Their work includes the Spice and Wolf series and Ishura, and both worked on 2024's Spice and Wolf: merchant meets the wise wolf.
From Pixiv Sketches to a Million Copies#
The Fake Alchemist didn't start as a web novel or a magazine manga. Sugiura posted it on Pixiv as rough, unpolished sketches, running from February 2020 to March 2021.
Even in that raw form it found a big audience. It placed 12th in the web manga category of the Next Manga Award 2022, before any professional version existed.
KADOKAWA then paired Sugiura with artist Umemaru for a full commercial version, which launched on its KadoComi site in June 2023. Five volumes are out in Japan, and the series has passed 1 million copies in circulation.
English readers can pick it up from Yen Press, which released volume 1 in print on February 24, 2026, followed by volume 2 on June 23. Yen Press rates it Older Teen. KADOKAWA also publishes the series in English digitally.
