When Does Seirei Gensouki Season 3 Come Out?#

There's no date yet, not even a year or a season. The announcement confirms only that production has been decided.

The series hasn't moved quickly in the past. Season 2 arrived a little over three years after Season 1.

Season	Premiered	Episodes
Season 1	July 2021	12
Season 2	October 2024	12
Season 3	Not announced	Not announced

What the Author Said#

The announcement came with a message from Yuri Kitayama, who writes the original light novels. Kitayama credits the renewal to fans in Japan and overseas who kept asking for it after Season 2 ended.

The comment also frames the story so far. In Season 1, Rio swore revenge. In Season 2, he came face to face with the man he was hunting. But by then he had Celia, his former teacher, at his side, along with Miharu, the childhood friend he loved in his previous life.

Kitayama describes the pull between Rio's two lives: the happiness in front of him now, and the happiness from back then that he can never get back. The theme of this part of the novels is that putting your feelings into words matters. Leave them unsaid, and the cost quietly piles up on the other person.

The message ends on a tease: that means things are about to get tangled, and interesting.

Where Season 2 Left Off#

Spoilers for the Season 2 finale follow.

Season 2 closed with Rio chasing down Lucius, who had kidnapped Flora, and finally confronting his sworn enemy. Afterward, Flora tried to give him the thanks and apology she'd carried for years. Rio wouldn't accept either, and told her to forget the name Rio.

He then returned to the village of the spirit folk. The last scene sends him on a new journey to reunite Miharu and the others with Satsuki, who has become a hero.

Cast and Staff#

Nothing has been announced for Season 3. These are the main voices from Season 2:

• Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Rio
• Akane Fujita as Celia Claire
• Yuki Kuwahara as Aishia
• Tomori Kusunoki as Latifa
• Sayaka Harada as Miharu Ayase
• Nao Toyama as Liselotte Cretia

TMS Entertainment animated both seasons. Hiroshi Kubo directed Season 2, with Season 1 director Osamu Yamasaki supervising and writing, and Kyoko Yufu designing the characters.

Yukina Shuto, who voices Orphia here, also plays Lucy in this season's Full Clearing Another World under a Goddess with Zero Believers.

Where to Watch Seasons 1 and 2#

Crunchyroll streamed both seasons as they aired in Japan. Season 2 also has an English dub, so all 24 episodes are there to rewatch while you wait.

The Light Novels Behind the Anime#

Yuri Kitayama began the story on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in February 2014. Hobby Japan has published it in print since 2015, with illustrations by Riv. Futago Minaduki's manga adaptation started in 2017.
