Review Guidelines
A review is a critical evaluation of a work: its story, characters, art, sound, and your personal enjoyment. Its job is not to tell readers whether to watch or read something, but to give them what they need to decide for themselves. Say what you liked and disliked, and why, with concrete examples and no spoilers.
Writing a good review
- Explain your opinions instead of only stating them. "The pacing collapses in the second half because entire arcs are compressed into single episodes" beats "the pacing is bad".
- Readers already saw the synopsis. Summarize little, evaluate much.
- Keep a fair tone. Neither fan gushing nor hate raging helps a reader; both usually get skipped.
- Use paragraphs. A blank line between thoughts makes long reviews far easier to read.
- Review the work itself, not its fandom, its score on this site, or other people's reviews.
Rules
- Write in English, in complete sentences, using your own words. Plagiarism and AI-generated text are not allowed.
- The 50 character minimum exists to keep reviews useful. Padding it with filler is not allowed.
- No story spoilers. If your review needs to touch plot developments, tick the "Contains spoilers" checkbox so the text stays hidden until a reader chooses to see it.
- No links of any kind. Reviews containing links are held for moderation and will usually not be approved.
- No profanity-laden rants, harassment, or attacks on people or groups. Reviews containing flagged language are held until a moderator approves them.
- Review only works you have genuinely watched or read a meaningful part of.
How moderation works
- Clean reviews publish immediately. Reviews containing links or flagged language are held as pending; you will see a notice on your review until a moderator approves, edits, or removes it.
- You have one review per title, and you can edit or delete it at any time from the title's review page. Editing a published review with content that trips a filter sends it back to moderation.
- Moderators may edit reviews for rule compliance, hide them, or remove them. Repeated or serious violations can lead to losing review access or account suspension.
