When Does Frieren Season 3 Come Out?#

Season 3 premieres in October 2027 on Nippon TV and its affiliates. The day, the time slot and the episode count are still to come.

The announcement arrived on March 27, 2026, the same night the Season 2 finale aired. Episode 38 closed out a 10-episode run that began on January 16.

That puts the wait at roughly 18 months. It feels long, but it is shorter than the gap before Season 2. Season 1 ended in March 2024, and fans waited about 22 months for the next episode.

Is There a Frieren Season 3 Trailer?#

Not yet. Madhouse hasn't released a PV or teaser video for Season 3.

What we have instead is the teaser visual shown above. It features Macht alone, with long magenta hair, curled horns and pointed ears. He wears a dark coat with a fur collar and looks down at the viewer with a faint smile. The text beside him reads, "The last and strongest of the Seven Sages of Destruction, Macht of the Golden Land."

A second Macht illustration followed at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles. Character designer Takasemaru drew it for a postcard handed out at the Frieren panel on July 4. It shows Macht with a teacup in hand and a mysterious expression.

What Is the Golden Land Arc About?#

After crossing the Great Tor Canyon on the Northern Plateau, Frieren, Fern and Stark receive a plea for help. It leads them to a cursed city and to Macht of the Golden Land, the last and most powerful of the Seven Sages of Destruction.

The Seven Sages were the Demon King's elite subordinates. Viewers met one of them in Season 1: Aura the Guillotine, who fell to Frieren early in the journey. Macht sits at the top of that group.

He also has a surprising connection to Denken, the veteran mage from the First-Class Mage Exam. That link may give the party an edge in the fight.

Where to Watch Frieren Season 3#

Streaming for Season 3 hasn't been announced yet.

Crunchyroll streamed Season 2 worldwide outside Asia, and its English dub began on January 30, 2026. Season 1 is on Crunchyroll as well, so all 38 episodes are there to rewatch before October 2027.

Frieren Season 3 Cast#

The official site lists the core cast for Season 3:

  • Character design: Takasemaru and Keisuke Kojima
  • Concept art: Seiko Yoshioka

The Season 2 team carries over. Kitagawa took the director's chair for Season 2 after directing episodes of Season 1, with Harashina as his assistant director. Keiichiro Saito, who directed Season 1, stays involved in a supporting role. Evan Call returns to score the series for the third time.
